Or scroll up and book online! Types of Massages AvailableMassage is the careful manipulation of your body’s soft tissues commonly applied in various manners. Using hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearms, feet or even specifically designed devices, our therapists work on these soft tissues for the purpose of treating body stress or pain.
Utah requires massage therapists to be licensed by the state, of which we all are. Our Salt Lake City massage services offer a wide range of options including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Reflexology, Ashiatsu, Shiatsu, Hot Stone and Couples massages. All of our services will make you feel relaxed, revived and rejuvenated. By communicating with your therapist we can tailor the best massage experience to fit your body’s specific needs. If something doesn't feel right during your session, tell your therapist!! Swedish MassageThe Swedish Massage is considered one of the most widely recognized and used kind of massage. This form of massage can reduce fatigue, joint stiffness, reduce constant pain and even help improve those with osteoarthritis in the knee. A therapist my vary from vigorous to light pressure and uses five different styles of strokes. They include a rhythmic tapping, kneading, sliding or gliding, friction and shaking or vibration style.
Deep Tissue MassageA Deep Tissue Massage targets specific areas and adhesions in the deep layers of muscle and connective tissue. The therapist treats chronic tight and painful muscles, repetitive strain problems, injuries and even postural issues by using slow, deliberate strokes or friction across the grain of the muscle. While normally more intense that a Swedish Massage, this technique does not have to be painful to be effective. Let your therapist know immediately if you are experiencing pain that doesn't feel normal so they can make sure we don't cause injury to you.
As the business, we do not charge extra for deep tissue work. If you ask for deep tissue, your therapist will expect at least 30% or more to let the therapist know how much you appreciate the extra effort! All the other businesses charge a minimum of $20 for deep tissue work, but we want the therapists to have that money because they earned it! Sports MassageLike you would expect, a Sports Massage includes the use of specific techniques to enhance performance, improve body recovery and reduce the risk of injuries. We focus in on methods that help improve the blood flow to and from the muscles, as blood gets the nutrition in and the waste out! Depending on your needs, preferences and goals, this type of massage can be received before or after physical activity, or even both!
Reflexology MassageBased on philosophy that our bodies include a system of zones and reflex areas that are reflected on our hands and feet, Reflexology Massage focuses on massage techniques applied to the hands and feet to produce a physical change to the related body areas. Massage pressure is applied to the hands and feet with specific finger, thumb and hand techniques. This can be done with, or without, lotion or oil.
Ashiatsu MassageLiterally translated from Japanese this type of massage means foot pressure. That’s right, the therapist uses their feet to deliver the massage treatment. It is ideal for larger muscles such as in the thigh or upper trapezius. It offers tension, shear forces and large compression with less pressure than an elbow.
Shiatsu MassageThe therapist will use mainly their fingers and palm pressure following meridian lines along with stretches and other massage techniques and does not require you to get undressed.
Hot Stone Massage and CuppingJust like it sounds, a Hot Stone Massage uses warm stones. These heated stones are placed on strategic body points while the therapist also holds warm stones while giving the massage. This warm stone experience can be relaxing and loosen tight muscles as the therapist works to reach and relieve your areas of muscle tension.
Cupping is available as well! This therapy has been around for thousands of years! It lifts the skin and connective tissue up and allows blood to fill the area to flood the tissues for quicker healing and faster recovery. That's why there looks to be bruising circles afterwards, that are not bruises. Couples MassageRelax and spent time together enjoying one of our favorite massages. It may quickly turn out to be one of your favorites also. Upon arriving we will spend time consulting with you about your goals and address any questions or concerns you may have. Once you are ready, you both relax in a private room with side-by-side massage tables and enjoy the benefits of a massage with individual therapists at the same time. You can converse during the massage or simply enjoy the time together relaxing.
Benefits of MassagesMassage therapy can be a great treat and the perfect way to feel pampered and boost your health, wellness and outlook. It can also provide benefits that continue throughout the days and weeks after each session.
Many of the benefits from our Salt Lake City massage services, as reported by our clients, include the following:
Massage is not a replacement for needed or regular medical care. Let you doctor know you are trying massage and be sure to follow any doctor ordered treatment plans. Before we get started... Before any session begins, please converse with your massage therapist and discuss your reasons for coming and your goals. Please inform your therapist of any symptoms/areas of concern and your relevant medical history. With this information your therapist will explain the kind of massage techniques they recommend you both can agree on your session.
Normally you undress to where you are comfortable. You will then get in between the sheets. Your therapist will perform an evaluation by touch as they locate any painful or tight areas so they can get your feedback and determine how much pressure they will apply during your session. If at any time you're not comfortable with the pressure, PLEASE tell your therapist. Based on your preference your therapist will normally use massage oil or lotion to reduce the friction on your skin during the session. Be sure to let them know if you have any know allergies to ingredients that may be in these. Your massage will then begin and continue for the selected time. If the therapist is pushing too hard be sure to let them know and ask for lighter pressure. Often the therapist will be working on a sensitive spot that feels like a knot. It may be uncomfortable while they work out the know—just let them know if it becomes too painful. Just communicate to get the maximum benefit from your experience. A massage is much more than only a feel-good way to indulge and pamper yourself. Yes, it is that and it is much, much more. A massage is a fantastic tool to boost your health and well-being whether you have a specific health problem and issue or are only looking to relieve some stress and anxiety in your life. Come on in today and feel leave your stress and anxiety behind. By the way, have you visited Utah's most popular tourist attraction yet? If you feel your visit wasn't good, please reach out to us. Thank you. Tipping Our Therapists do work for tips! We don't ask for tips up front, as we prefer for our clients tip how good they feel. If they have done a good job, 20% is normal. There is no limit of how much you want to tip. Because this has been an issue, I feel it's important to put this here. Nothing is more insulting than working hard to help someone feel amazing and get handed $5. This is not easy work. All we want to do is help every person feel better in their body. |
